About The President

Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade is a multi-dimensional personality — recognised as an educationalist, philosopher, philanthropist, and the ‘Dharmaadhikari’ and ‘Pattadhikaari’ of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala. Over several years of tirelessly serving the society, he has evolved into a social reformer. He was awarded the second-highest civilian award of India, Padma Vibhushan in 2015. What truly defines his contribution, is his determined and consistent service to the nation — and his passion to show us that every individual has an innate potential to change the world.

As the president of the SDME Society, Dr. Heggade is the guiding spirit and driving force behind all its institutions. He is known for converting small towns into modern educational hubs and revered for his willful contribution towards education, empowerment and social betterment. His path-breaking contribution to the social, economical and cultural development of society is a testimonial to his service-oriented nature.

Dharmasthala

Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala is the encompassing force for all the SDM institutions, organisations and social initiatives. They function under the guidance of the Dharmadhikari. Dharmasthala is a confluence of multiple social attributes. It enables us to keep the values and ideals of the institutions intact.

The temple town of Dharmasthala is a place of pilgrimage and a spiritual healing centre, fostering multiple faiths under the watchful eye of Lord Manjunatha. About The SDME Society

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational (SDME) Society, Ujire was established with the primary objective of making education accessible and affordable to everyone. With the hallmarked vision of inculcating Value Into Education, it currently manages 56 educational institutions from Kindergarten to Doctoral Studies in the State of Karnataka, India.

The institutions offer quality education in the fields of Law, Engineering & Technology, Industrial Training, Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Conventional & Alternative Medicine and Business & Management Studies. The educational society ensures quality through updated skill sets and value-based education. The central functioning unit for all management actions for SDM Institutions — the SDME Society Office — is located at Ujire. About SDM Schools

The SDM Schools are a significant component of the spectrum of educational institutions that the SDME Society manages. The very first SDM school was established in 1947, and the group of institutions have since championed the essence of quality schooling — implementing the most result-oriented educational initiatives in schools.
