Republic Day Celebration

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur at SDM School in Ashoka Nagar, under the leadership of Class 9 teacher Mrs. Asha Priya, along with Havya Sarita, and the students. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Sudhir Pai, a retired officer of the Indian Navy and currently serving as the Treasurer of the Dakshina Kannada Ex-Servicemen Association. The event commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, who was escorted to the stage with a salute by the band and a procession. He then hoisted the flag. Students sang patriotic songs that reflected unity and love for the nation. The chief guest, Mr. Sudhir Pai, appreciated the students dressed in the attire representing various states of India. He conveyed the message that women too should take on the responsibility of protecting the country. He also enlightened the students about the history of the Indian Constitution and its significance. Various cultural programs were held, and the school staff, including the bus drivers and support staff who assist students in their learning journey, were honored for their contributions. Mrs. Joy Jeevan Rai, the Principal, presided over the event and appreciated the students’ cultural performances and the teachers who worked hard for them. She also announced plans to start an NCC unit in the school next year. The event was attended by School Correspondent Mrs. Shrutha Jithesh, Academic Coordinator Mrs. Usha Hegde, teaching and non-teaching staff, and parents. Students Saurav Krishna, Sukirtharama, Krishna, and Adyant Holla gave speeches, while Aryaman introduced the guest. Adya gave the welcome speech, and Shaurya and Prithviraj proposed the vote of thanks
