KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS COMMEMORATED WITH GRANDEUR

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara School, Ashoknagar celebrated the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas with grandeur on 16th August 2024. The event was graced by esteemed chief guests: retired officer of the Indian Navy Veteran PO Captain Sudheer Pai, Veteran Naik Naresh Pai from the Indian Army, and experienced Sergeant Praveen Kamath from the Indian Air Force. Addressing the students, Captain Sudheer Pai recounted the heroic tales of the soldiers who fought bravely for India’s defence, narrating the backdrop of the Kargil War and other significant incidents. He also spoke about the importance and necessity of serving in the armed forces. In her address, school principal Mrs. Joy Jeevan Rai emphasized that the foundation of loving and respecting the country begins with the respect shown to elders at home. She also announced plans to introduce the NCC Cadet program in the coming days. The school’s correspondent, Mrs. Shrutha Jitesh, academic coordinator Ms. Usha Hegde, and the teaching and non-teaching staff were present for the event. The program was hosted by student Kritisha, with teacher Asha Priya delivering the welcome address. The event also paid tribute to Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, and Captain Vikram Bhatra, with Chandrakala delivering the vote of thanks.
