Soccer Showdown 2024 Football Tournament
Hosted by SDM School, Ashoknagar, and led by physical education teachers Soumyashree, Nandan, Nagaraj, and Vasudha, the SDMS Soccer Showdown 2024 football tournament for AICS schools of Dakshina Kannada was held on August 30th and 31st at Perfect Pass in Alake and Falnir. The event saw the participation of 34 schools.
On August 30th, the tournament was inaugurated with Mr. Jitesh, a member of the school administration committee, and Mr. Hansel Pereira, an Australian football coach, as the chief guests. The closing ceremony on August 31st featured Mr. D. M. Aslam, President of the Dakshina Kannada Football Association, as the chief guest.
In the Under-14 category, the third runner-up was Shakti Residential School, the second runner-up was Kanchur Public School, the first runner-up was Manipal School Mangalore, and the championship title was claimed by St. Aloysius Gonzaga. In the Under-17 category, the third runner-up was Mount Carmel Central School, the second runner-up was Prestige International School, the first runner-up was Canara School Dongarakeri, Mangalore, and the first place was secured by Milagres School.
