International Yoga Day Celebrated at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara School

International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and solemnity at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara School, Ashok Nagar, with the active participation of students, teachers, and staff.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Shaman Semitha, Yoga Instructor, Art of Living, who addressed the gathering on the significance of yoga in leading a healthy and balanced life. He emphasized that yoga is a holistic practice that promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, and spiritual growth. Stressing its relevance in today’s fast-paced world, he encouraged students to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine to achieve a disciplined, healthy, and meaningful life.
Presiding over the programme, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Joy Jeevan Rai, highlighted the vital role of yoga in shaping the overall personality of students. She stated that regular yoga practice enhances discipline, concentration, self-confidence, emotional stability, and inner peace. She urged students to cultivate the habit of practising yoga every day and to adopt it as a lifelong way of promoting health and well-being.
The programme was attended by the Academic Coordinator, Mrs. Usha Hegde, along with members of the teaching faculty and students. As part of the celebration, a yoga competition was organised for the students. Participants confidently demonstrated various yoga postures, Surya Namaskar, and Pranayama, earning appreciation from the audience for their skill, dedication, and enthusiasm.
The event was organised with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of yoga and encouraging students to embrace a healthy lifestyle. The enthusiastic participation of the students made the celebration a grand success and reinforced the message of holistic health, self-discipline, and the timeless values of yoga.
